Yes, this cat has 4 ears. Relevance? We want to listen to YOU, the students of Stanly County like WE have four ears! We want to hear what you want to see at 704 and what you don’t want there. We want you to brainstorm with us like money is no object and there is no ceiling. I’ve had some pretty crazy suggestions too, so don’t feel like you’re crazy for an idea that’s way out in left field.
Let us hear all your thoughts on 704 including feedback on what we’ve done so far and the direction we’re heading. Seriously guys, dream big and throw it our way! One of my biggest dreams for 704? I would love to some day buy a multi-story building in dowtown Albemarle and turn it into an enormous paintball course. We could make the inside look like it barely lived through a gang war (a gang that uses paintball guns…) It would be sweet to cut some holes in the floor and install fireman poles. The best part? From top to bottom it would all be fair game! We could have the sweetest indoor paintball facility in the state!
That’s one of my big dreams for 704. What are yours?
I was reading in Genesis this morning and noticed that in 12:1, God told Abram to go to a land “that I will show you.” In all of our planning about 704, it is easy to want to wait until every detail is in place before we share the dream of this place, but sometimes the destination is a little unknown, even if the commitment to the destination is secure.
Abram didn’t waver in his willingness to start out on the journey, even if he wasn’t exactly sure of how it would all end up. We aren’t, either. The unknown factor just gives God a chance to do even more than we could ask or imagine!

Last night at 2 super bowl parties (North Albemarle and First Assembly) was our first corporate promotion of the youth center. We put together 3 videos to peak interest, get laughs, and get students thinking about 704. We are trying to let the kids of this county know WHAT is coming and just how hard it’s going to ROCK!
Also, we had some business card with make704happen.com on them to hand out and spread the word. They look awesome, except for the fact the the S in seven and the R in four got cut off. So it reads “EVEN O FOU.” We’re thinking of making that our slogan: “704, where Even O Fou!”

That Youth Thing is PUMPED about taking all of the steps to build Stanly County’s most kickin place for teenagers! We need all of the help we can get though! As we go along, this site will update you on all of 704’s progress, but may also call YOU to action from time to time.
Your first call? PRAY!!! We need all of you to pray hard and often for the future of 704. 2008 is the year where 1000’s of things must get done, and none of these have a chance if we don’t pray! Join us?

wisdom and God’s guidance as problems and roadblocks arise
spiritual preparation (we want the adults of Stanly County ready to reach kids)
student’s spiritual preparation (we want the STUDENTS of Stanly County ready to reach their peers)
volunteers, volunteers, VOLUNTEERS!!! (we’ll need a TON to operate this place)
students, student, STUDENTS!!! (we want thousands in and out weekly!)
everyone involved to have pure and proper hearts and motives
God’s blessing and awesome hand on such a huge project
